Berries with snow

Berries with Snow

Beautiful white snow lay soft on
Cookie cut leaves green against a winter sky
Scarlet berries
Each one like a steaming smudged kiss
that lingers...
Ice white winter fingers
brush softly...

As I posted, there was a little snow here. It's all gone. It was only a little. It was only for awhile. But, you got to take what you can get :-) Only a soft powdering of snow, but it was something at least :-) So, here, I present you with some snow on the leaves and berries.

You may have noticed a lack of updates and comments from me on your site... I was just a bit burned out and needed a break from blogging... but now hopefully back on track... ah... us creative types are so fickle :-D haha... Wish me more snow, and I will wish you good dreams.

Beautiful pic. You do have to take what you can. I haven't been in snow this Winter, so I'll take what I can from the picture. I see what you mean by minds thinking alike with the 2 color scheme. If you keep sending the moon, I'll keep sending the mermaid!

the poem was perfect short sweet and each word popping with description and imagery. Very nice!

The berries look almost unreal. Well captured.

Really like the line, "Cookie cut leaves green against a winter sky".

Is this the way it came out or did you Photoshopped it to make the berries redder? Looks like one of those old b&w photographs where the photographer added a touch of colour afterwards, do you know the ones I mean?

Mermaid, keep on sending and i shall send you moon magic :)

Jesica! Glad you liked it the words. Thanks :-)

:A: Thanks a lot for the comment. We have similar visions i think and the way we use both words and image.

Cristina! Yeah, I think I know the photographs that you mean. No, I didn't photoshop it! I don't kno whow :-) I did put it into photo shop and did my usual work on it. I adjust the contrast, gamma, colour, brightness and so on. This is how it turned out with a bit of tweaking! I do want to learn photoshop so i can mess around with the colours of photos... so someting to do in the future :-)

That makes me shivering. Looks like out of the latest Shymalan movie, "la aldea" it's called in Spanish.

Cristina said...

It's amazing then the way it looks like those old ones. And very pretty too, of course :)

Hey Borya - that's just the Mexican (or South-American) translation of the title. In Spain it was called El Bosque, so go figure... :P

Borya said...

El Bosque? But that focuses on a complete different aspect! Strange.

Billy, thanks for the comment. Glad you liked it. I think all creative people get burned out and need to recharge from time to time. You are right, it's all good :)

Borya, thanks!

And finally, in English it's called THE VILLAGE! In Spanish it's the village! And in Mexican? I don't konw that word and it's too late to look it up! I am going to bed.

Buenos noches :D

Like what you have done with the picture. I thought it was b&W at first, and couldn't really see what was wrong.. :-)
A bit of Schindler's List effect going on there.

Glad you liked it Hay and thanks for the comment :-)

Oh, and was sleepy last night so made an error. I was meaning to say that in Spanish it's "THE FOREST" and still can't be bothered to look up the other word :D
