Bathe in Blue

Image hosted by TinyPic.com

Bathe in Blue

She threw her head around, brown hair flying, to look back at him with a mischievous grin on her face. "Come on," she said.

He trailed to the edge of the sky pool with his hands dug deep into pockets of faded jeans, his shoulders slouching, and with apprehension in his eyes.

The sky pool shimmered with light and looked so beautiful blue. Like fish the clouds floated along in it's deeps. She grinned as she tore off shoes and socks. With an even bigger grin she dipped her toe into the blue sky with clouds that sent ripples of light outward.

"You see," she proclaimed! "It's lovely! The sky is so warm and bright" He still looked doubtful. "The trick is to just jump right in. If you go deep enough you can touch a cloud." Her small face then took on a look of exaggerated shock... "you aren't scared. Are you?"

"Of course I'm not!" He said, taking his hands out of his pockets.
"Well then," she drew him right to the edge, "Lets just jump right in together and the first one to touch a cloud can be king or queen of the hill for a day"

After counting to three, they both jumped right in leaving blue ripples in their wake as they dived deep for clouds...

This is another photo that I took while visiting Canary Wharf area of London. I was really hoping to get the sky reflected! And as you can see I have! I was lucky to have day with a beautiful blue sky and clouds too! This is the second of three Canary Wharf photographs, at least for now! More to come soon...

This is an awesome perspective and you sure did catch the sky!!! Great reflection. Yes, Flickr is so easy to use and it would be wonderful to see your photo's on there!

Love reflections, but they're hard to catch, aren't they?

For some reason, I like the color photo better than the black and white one. I guess it's because I see everything in color.

"With an even bigger grin she dipped her toe into the blue sky with clouds that sent ripples of light outward."

Wow, she's a magician:) Or at least he lets her be the Queen. How sweet! I find that loving someone selflessly means letting them bask in their glory, without trying to shade their light.

It's Beautiful, blue is my favorite color so it really caught my eye and you caught the reflections so well on the windows. I can't wait to see the third.

I wonder if the people who work in this building realize that it looks like a swimming pool from just the right angle, as you so well captured. When I was little I always wondered how office workers breathed in buildings where the windows didn't open...

lovely! i don't think i'd hesitate for a second to dive in and try to touch a cloud. do you think the sky would be cool just like water? would it wrap itself around you & envelope you like the ocean?

UBERMENSCH: - Hi :-) Thank you, I had a look and left a comment for you! Read your poem and liked it a lot, but will leave a comment on that tomorrow as don't have a lot of time today :-) In fact, just want to reply to all these people kind enough to leave a comment on my blog and then go get some sleep... I'm just dead tired today. Been busy busy busy. No time for anything :-)

WENDY: - Those buildings down at Canary Wharf are so reflective and just perfect for catching the clouds and sky! Regarding flicker: "just me" was kind enough to send me an email with lots of information on how to ( thanks again H ) and I am thinking on it. Will let you know soon!

CRISTINA: YES, love reflections too. Very hard to catch but the buildings down at Canary Wharf are prefect for getting that and make things a lot more easy!

MERMAID: You are absolutely right. Loving somebody does mean letting them have the light. I think that if you love somebody that person is more important to you and you will cherish their light.

RONNY: - I think blue is my fave colour too. The walls of this room that I type in are blue! ( with a slight hinting of indigo ) The third one will be up soon! I hope you enjoy that one too ( Thur or Fri - should be ) :-)

MARIJOSE: Hmmmm, I don't think that most of them would think such a thing. That's really a shame. Maybe one of those office workers might stumble across my blog here and see things in a different and more magical light. They might notice the sky and the way the colours are caught there. They might indulge for a moment that they could perform some magic and dive right in... that's a hope. That would be something good.

JUST ME - Thanks! Want to go swimming? ;-)

I often imagine what the sky would feel like. I think it would be like the ocean to swim in. It would be cool like silk and yet not cold because it's warmed like the sun - just like the ocean. I always imagine the clouds to be either solid as islands that you can sit on or they are misty and mysterious things you can swim through.

Do you ever lay on your back and just stare into the blue? It seems so oceanic and infinite.

M.E.C - Canary Wharf is an interesting place to visit and is close to Greenwich ( some pics coming soon ) which is a nice place. You would like it :-)

No, it's not cheating. I am sure I can help you a lot! Send me and email and we can talk about it. I will help you best that I can :-)

JESSICA: Thank you :-) Yeah, I am really partial to sky shots also! The sky is one of the most amazing things there is.

ANGEL: Thanks :-)

Hmmm not sure I would want to live in such a place. I would settle for a cabin far away on a mountain side deep in a leafy forest with a huge supply of book and coffee :-D

"A slightly different angle shifts the perspective from a dark pool of water to a bright reflection of the sky, from a dark contained hole to an open and inclusive wonder... "

How true, indeed :-)

We only have to look...and it's there!

i went driving in the country today & found myself constantly looking at the clouds! i think however that the clouds above me had become very sullied in their voyage over the ocean whether they came from your cloud factory (or admin building) or those in russia.

where i am is on a large peninsula & as i looked at the sky the clouds were light and fluffy on the eastern side but very dark and ominous on the western side. of course they would be moving east to west or west to east but as i viewed them it was a peninsula divided.

i got to thinking...about the impact of art...because i took your picture & your words away with me in my mind twice this week: once when i saw ottmar's photo of the sky reflected in a pool of water. that photo reminded me of "...she dipped her toe into the blue sky..." immediately upon viewing it. and then today as i watched the clouds above me i thought of your photo. feeding the soul: that is what art does to us.

Martin said...

JUST ME:

I think you are right. Art does do that. It feeds the soul. Once you see some art hopefully it will change your world just a little bit. It will show you some beauty or magic. It will stay with you. It will linger like an after image making the world just a little more beautiful, magical, having shifted the perspective ( as you said ) a litle to the left or to the right to reveal the angels. This is feeding your soul, making it brighter. I always hope what I post he does that. So I'm really happy you made this comment :-)

Art feeds the soul in this way. I think I cannot see clouds without thinking of Van Gogh or light on the water without thinking Monet. Those great artists showing me with passion the beauty and the way they see the world. Shifting my perspective so that I can see it too.

I'm glad you took the words and images of my art away with you. Hopefully I reminded you just a little of how beautiful and wondrous the world is. That's my hope with posting the words and the photographs. :-)
